<posted & mailed> When I download the texmacs source code from unstable
apt-get source texmacs cd texmacs-1.0.7.2 and run $dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc The compilation process works fine. However if I make some trivial changes (say in debian/rules) and recompile it using dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc then the compilation process stops with dpkg-source -b texmacs-1.0.7.2 dpkg-source: info: using source format `1.0' dpkg-source: info: building texmacs using existing texmacs_1.0.7.2.orig.tar.gz dpkg-source: info: building texmacs in texmacs_1.0.7.2-1.diff.gz dpkg-source: error: cannot represent change to texmacs-1.0.7.2/debian/.rules.swp: binary file contents changed dpkg-source: warning: file texmacs-1.0.7.2/debian/texmacs-common.dirs has no final newline (either original or modified version) dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/10-tex_files.cpp.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/04_axiom.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/11-desktop-file.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/07_fig2ps.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/03_mupad.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/01_american.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/06_rebuild-r.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/09_ipa.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: warning: executable mode 0755 of 'debian/patches/08_gzipbest.dpatch' will not be represented in diff dpkg-source: unrepresentable changes to source dpkg-buildpackage: failure: dpkg-source -b texmacs-1.0.7.2 gave error exit status 1 It is a bit weird in the sense it does not occur when I download the package afresh. But occurs only when I make some changes here and there and run dpkg-buildpackage repeatedly. Any idea what causes this error? Also, is there a way to fix it? thanks raju -- Kamaraju S Kusumanchi http://malayamaarutham.blogspot.com/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
