Is what you are packaging *that* necessary (e.g., fixes a security bug
or something similar) or are you just impatient?
I think that there are little to no excuses for not reading the
documentation. Some people do spend a lot of their time writing proper
documentation and you should read those when pointed to by people that
are more experienced.
They probably know what they are talking about.
