I just tried sniffit and it's segfaulting on my system (amd64) in nearly every combination of command line parameters except if used with -i :/ ./sniffit -d -p 7 -t 192.168.0.4 zsh: segmentation fault ./sniffit -d -p 7 -t 192.168.0.4 I don't have time to debug that but I think the code needs some fixes before uploading this to Debian.
