I agree with Jose that a merge of upstream doesn't make sense, since these libraries are really different pieces of software with several years of development. Moreover, actually only one client depends on that library (rtorrent), where a lot of projects ([1] and more not listed here, such as Deluge) depend on libtorrent-rasterbar. Thus, IMHO we need to change also the name of libtorrent10 and libtorrent-dev, and the short description of rtorrent (which says "ncurses BitTorrent client based on LibTorrent").
