That may come back and bite you if cellwriter.desktop contains
translated strings (as it should).

$ desktop-file-validate desktop/gpe-expenses.desktop 
desktop/gpe-expenses.desktop: error: required key "Encoding" not found

I would recommend reinstating the Encoding line and testing all future
desktop files with desktop-file-validate, part of desktop-file-utils.
