As I understand the upstream website, cdemu is not for booting an image
(as qemu) but for using them as virtual cd. 
And don't tell now, we have loop - this works for ISO-files only, cdemu
suports bin/cue, ccd and nrg too, see http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/#FAQ
