Would it be possible to have audacious so that we can have a decent
non-gtk 1 (and light) music player for various formats in etch?
I have been using audacious pulled from unstable and I would love to see
it in etch, since it doesn't depend on external plugins to play flac,
vorbis and speex files (and I have not even mentioned other formats).
Unblocked for now, as it has a few users and no reported bug since it's
last upload over 5 weeks ago. Expect it to be removed instantly if an rc
bug turns up.

Hi,
I'm the maintainer of audacious.
It hasn't been included in etch because there was lots of upstream
releases and debian fixes, so I uploaded several version without having
time to reach the 10 days delay.
Audacious is a really nice audio player (I mean xmms-like, not jukebox)
and it's far better than bmp, bmpx and xmms.
In fact, I consider removing old depecated xmms/bmp in flavor of
audacious for etch +1.
Having audacious in Etch could really be a good thing!
Regards, Adam.
