Maybe it is an XTerm bug... Normaly I set TMPDIR in my .bashrc or .xsession but it seems, that Etch does not use it and it is erased from the environement... If I run a XTerm and set manualy TMPDIR then all is working fine... Currently I am updating to a newer version...
