I think the perl library is good (though it triggeres mod-security on my
server), and provides more features. You mentioned that it requires
perl, but perl is included in all but the most basic, basic installs of
Debian, and I'm not sure whether those installs would want a tool like
this.

If original features can be added to this tool then it will definately
be accepted.
