Hello, I am looking for sponsorship for a set of packages including openguides, a wiki-based city guide package. The other packages are those dependencies which are not already satisfied in unstable).
The packages are quite numerous so for this reason I am posting just a short descriptions of most of them. They are all licenced under the dual Artistic/GPL licences. I would be interested in people wanting to sponsor some or more of these packages. I believe Jonathan McDowell may be interested in sponsoring some of them but because of the sheer number thought it would be best to ask here as well. Besides the list below there I would to package Plucene <http://search.cpan.org/~simon/Plucene-1.19/> as this is an optional, recommended dependency of OpenGuides; however this requires an additional 10 or so modules so those packages aren't quite ready yet. If there are no objections, I will file ITPs for these packages soon. I would be interested if anyone has further comments on the issues surrounding packaging a large number of small modules like this. First, the main feature: Package: openguides Description: A web application for managing a collaboratively-written city guide The OpenGuides software provides the framework for a collaboratively-written city guide. It is similar to a wiki but provides somewhat more structured data storage allowing you to annotate wiki pages with information such as category, location, and much more. It provides searching facilities including "find me everything within a certain distance of this place". Every page includes a link to a machine-readable (RDF) version of the page. OpenGuides has a home page at http://openguides.org/ OpenGuides is built on top of CGI::Wiki, which deserves a full description too: Package: libcgi-wiki-perl Description: A toolkit for building Wikis Helps you develop Wikis quickly by taking care of the boring bits for you. You will still need to write some code - this isn't an instant Wiki. CGI::Wiki can be found at http://search.cpan.org/dist/CGI-Wiki/ Now just a brief list of the other perl modules which are required: Package: libdbix-fulltextsearch-perl Description: Indexing documents with MySQL as storage URL: http://search.cpan.org/~tjmather/DBIx-FullTextSearch-0.73/ Package: libconfig-tiny-perl Description: Read/Write .ini style files with as little code as possible URL: http://search.cpan.org/~adamk/Config-Tiny-2.00/ Package: libvcs-lite-perl Description: Minimal version control system URL: http://search.cpan.org/~ivorw/VCS-Lite-0.05/ Package: libcgi-wiki-plugin-rss-modwiki-perl Description: A CGI::Wiki plugin to output RecentChanges RSS URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kake/CGI-Wiki-Plugin-RSS-ModWiki-0.06/ Package: liburi-find-delimited-perl Description: Find URIs which may be wrapped in enclosing delimiters URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kake/URI-Find-Delimited-0.02/ Package: libcgi-wiki-plugin-categoriser-perl Description: Category management for CGI::Wiki URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kake/CGI-Wiki-Plugin-Categoriser-0.02/ Package: libcgi-wiki-plugin-locator-uk-perl Description: A CGI::Wiki plugin to manage UK location data URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kake/CGI-Wiki-Plugin-Locator-UK-0.09/ Package: libcgi-wiki-plugin-rss-reader-perl Description: retrieve RSS feeds for inclusion in CGI::Wiki nodes URL: http://search.cpan.org/~emartin/CGI-Wiki-Plugin-RSS-Reader-1.4/ Package: libgeography-nationalgrid-perl Description: Class for a point and to transform coordinate systems URL: http://search.cpan.org/~pkent/Geography-NationalGrid-1.6/ Package: libtie-db-file-splithash-perl Description: A wrapper around the DB_File Berkeley database system URL: http://search.cpan.org/~snowhare/Tie-DB_File-SplitHash-1.01/ Package: libsearch-invertedindex-perl Description: A manager for inverted index maps URL: http://search.cpan.org/~snowhare/Search-InvertedIndex-1.14/ (NOTE: OpenGuides development is moving away from using this in favour of Plucene, which I haven't had a chance to package yet, so it may not be worth putting this into the Debian archive as I believe it is essentially an abandoned project). Package: libtie-filelrucache-perl Description: A lightweight but robust filesystem based persistent LRU cache URL: http://search.cpan.org/~snowhare/Tie-FileLRUCache-1.01/ Package: libcgi-wiki-plugin-diff-perl Description: format differences between two CGI::Wiki pages URL: http://search.cpan.org/~ivorw/CGI-Wiki-Plugin-Diff-0.07/ Package: libfile-spec-perl Description: portably perform operations on file names URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kwilliams/File-Spec-0.90/ Package: libclass-parmlist-perl Description: Collection of routines for parameter lists for method calls URL: http://search.cpan.org/~snowhare/Class-ParmList-1.03/ Package: libcgi-wiki-formatter-usemod-perl Description: UseModWiki-style formatting for CGI::Wiki URL: http://search.cpan.org/~kake/CGI-Wiki-Formatter-UseMod-0.16/ Package: libclass-namedparms-perl Description: A lightweight named parameter handling system URL: http://search.cpan.org/~snowhare/Class-NamedParms-1.04/ Package: liburi-find-perl Description: Find URIs in arbitrary text URL: http://search.cpan.org/~rosch/URI-Find-0.14/ All the packages are available for download, along with some extra documentation, at http://www.larted.org.uk/~dom/debian/openguides/ Packages are signed by my GPG key 5178E2A5, which is signed by a handful of Debian Developers. Cheers, Dominic.
