I thank everyone who contributed ideas for the script. However, a lot of these came completely unwarranted, because they were based solely on Jarno's pasting, evidently without knowledge of the full package.
Anyhow, we did not come here asking for improvement ideas. What we asked is, would anybody object to my package being uploaded on its own or not. So far, there's been suggestions to include it in apt-utils, debian-goodies or deborphan - but nobody firmly opposed to the package being uploaded on its own.
