Hi, I guess this has been discussed on -devel, but I couldn't figure out the right search patterns, therefore I'm asking here.
If a package is removed because some newer Package declares to "Conflict, Provide, Replace" it, it ends up with conffiles still installed, because it is only removed, not purged. If these conffiles are harmful, misleading or simply useless, one would want to get rid of them, but how should one do this? One cannot call dpkg --purge from postinst, can one? And manually removing these files will still leave them registered. TIA, Frank -- Frank Küster, Biozentrum der Univ. Basel Abt. Biophysikalische Chemie
