-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings,
I'm an avid Linux user and programmer, and I'd like to become a Debian Developer. As the first step in this process, I'd like to adopt the orphaned "calc" source package and maintain it via a sponsor. I have downloaded it, updated the it against a more recent Debian Policy version. I also fixed the only bug against the package (a wishlist that there be a file included in the documentation). I have built the package, which is lintian clean, and tested on three different Debian machines of two different architectures; it's ready to go. I can give you a detailed list of the tests I ran if that would help. Bug 188998 is from David Rios ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) on April 14 saying that he intends to adopt it. I tried e-mailing him at that address, but it bounced with a "User Unknown" error. I looked in the Debian keyring, and I'm pretty sure that he's not a DD. Given that he's not a Debian Developer and the stated e-mail address doesn't work, I don't feel bad in taking this since I have the package ready to go. If someone would be willing to sponsor that package and take me on, I'd be most grateful. The package files are at my web site: http://www.craigsteffen.net/debian/calc My public key is available at http://www.craigsteffen.net/GPG. It contains the signature of Jonathan Hseu, a current Debian Developer. Thank you for your consideration.
