I need to implement l2tp in potato so to keep the system nice and neat I'm going to package it. But if I'm going to package it then I figure I might package it for unstable and make it policy compliant and get someone to sponsor it in.
What measures should I take to make sure my package will build in potato? In the past I've had trouble building stuff from testing/unstable in potato but I've found maintainers to be pretty helpful when I can't work it out.
