Hi, After a very little work (debhelper worked really fine), I have packaged the MIT Photonic Bands package, along with libctl and h5utils, which are needed (only recommended for h5utils) by mpb. This software is very widely used in optoelectronics research, as it allows to compute the band structures and eigenstates of periodic dielectric structures. h5utils can also be used with any program using the HDF5 format, allowing easy conversions to PNG format. The packages are on the web at : http://www.ens-lyon.fr/~jmouette/debian (it is also apt-able).
So I am looking for a mentor, as the upstream maintainer (Steven G.
Johnson) and me would like to have the software included in the main
debian archive, and more generally because it is a useful, free and
powerful piece of software.
