Hi, I am putting together a package of GNU barcode, and the program supplies an executable (barcode) info, and man files,...AND a supporting library libbarcode.a .
I suppose I could package the library separately...but I would rather have it in one package. When I try to have debuild include the library, and place it in /usr/lib debuild will do this, although lintian gives a warning: W: barcode: executable-not-elf-or-script usr/lib W: barcode: file-in-unusual-dir usr/lib. But when I try to install the package...dpkg pukes with: dpkg: error processing ../barcode_0.91.4-1_i386.deb (--install): trying to overwrite directory `/usr/lib' in package gnome-gnobots with nondirectory Humm,,,, got no gnome-gnobots here... Anyway, Is it possible to include a library with a binary package? -or am I barking up the wrong tree- Can anyone give me a suggestion ? If you are interested A working package (no libbarcode.a) can be found at http://master.debian.org/~jwest/barcode/ and my broken testing copy (with libbarcode.a) can be found at: ftp://ftp.netnw.com/pub/barcode/barcode_0.91.4-1_i386.deb Thanks, --- Jim Westveer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ------------------------------------------------------------ I get to work, flip the excuse page over: "Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the recipient who doesn't get it" Fair enough, looks like it's gointo be a good day. ------------------------------------------------------------ E-Mail: Jim Westveer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> phone 425-392-0141 fax 425-557-0660 Date: 26-Aug-99 URL lcs.issaquah.wa.us Time: 11:14:14 Key fingerprint = DC 49 E8 7E 76 DD 30 2D 8D F1 B4 D8 A3 60 4C 04 ------------------------------------------------------------
