help: packaging in its own unstable partition without reboot, possible?

Hi, all,

I've prepared one new partition solely for packaging new debs later,
because I must keep a stable one (now slink) for daily work.  Is it
possible to make packages without reboot to this unstable
distribution?  I've thought to use chroot, but some programs choked,
for example, those which use /proc.  Are there still other gotchas
I've not thought about?
