I've written some scripts to help me manage my system a little better -- nothing much, just a short 30-liner, but it automates writing lilo.conf files based on installed kernels. By simply re-running the script and lilo, it allows me to boot from any installed kernel, not just "linux" and "oldlinux". I find this very handy when I'm experimenting with new kernel configurations.
I think others would find it useful as well, and I'd like to make a Debian package out of it. Where do I start? What should I read first?
