I'd like to adopt ftape-tools (source for the ftape-util binary package) and ftape-doc orphaned packages. I am not a currently a debian developer, but have started on the required reading and need a sponsor for these packages.
ftape-utils is a set of utilities for the ftape kernel driver, which provides the drivers for floppy controller based tape drives (usually referred to as floppy tapes). It provides ftformat to format the tapes (and which is broken in the current package), ftmt which controls the tape using a format much like mt for scsi & atapi tapes, vtblc which manipules the volume table (essentially the table of contents), and a tcl/tk frontend.
My first job would be to combine the patches already in the BTS into a new version of the package.
Any takers?
