Hi. Maybe Andrey refers to the part in developers-reference saying NMUs should be used to fix really important things, and preferably only if the maintainer is not responsive (not sure if that's the exact wording, but I think that has always been the idea of NMUs). According to the comments in salsa, that does not seem to be the case here, so I recommend that Christian just blesses your changes by doing a maintainer upload, versioned 1.2.1-5. Thanks.
