I would like to temporarily switch the package sane-frontends to git as source. What is the best way to do the versioning without having to resort to epochs later? Is it enough to change from 1.0.14-19 to 1.0.14-20+git[commit id]? But that means I have to change the tar archive, which I don't like. Is there another way? Thanks for your comments.
