I don't think there are other options than waiting until someone fixes it,
fixing it and dropping the dep. And usually only you as the maintainer
know whether it's reasonable to drop a specific dep. So the answer (not
really specific to these packages) is "up to you".
As more specific advice, telepathy-haze is clearly dead upstream, with the
last release in 2020 and no upstream commits after it, so I would drop it
if it's possible.
