As the DD who has taken the package for this upload. If you feel that certain
things can be deferred to a future upload is fine by be.

I usually make exceptions only when the package is already in testing, used by 
many people (e.g. in this case, an high popcon), and RC buggy. If the patch is 
minimal, and it doesn't regress the package people already have installed on 
their system, I prefer to speed the fix up, specially e.g. in this case, to 
allow it being installable with newer upnp library, and then let maintainer 
think about the other changes.
Another option we have is "accept + RC bug", means, I upload and open an RC bug 
against the package in testing, because the copyright issue is not something new in this 
upload, but already in archive.

BTW, the package FTBFS in i386, so maintainer might want to fix copyright too 
now :)
(specially because this way we don't mess with git history)
