For this RFS this would would mean need to create a stripped down version of the work you done already; It can only fix bugs of RC and important severities. So I would start if right away if you can imagine to be the new maintainer. NMUs can be still be done if that yields nothing. (And NMUs are not a sustainable way to maintain a package.) -- tobi
