Please don't. Contributors are not necessarily copyright owners. Debian policy [1] requires: > Every package must be accompanied by a verbatim copy of its copyright information, unless its distribution license explicitly permits this information to be excluded from distributions of binaries built from the source. Which means that debian/copyright file must contain copyright information that are explicit in upstream project.
