My rationale was that the -source packages will mostly be used to
locally build the kernel packages and install them with dpkg. The
resulting packages depend on loop-aes-utils, so the dpkg install
would fail if loop-aes-utils wasnt installed already.

I realize the dependency is no good solution for the -source package
though, now that you pointed me to it. For 1.7e-12 I changed it to a
recommends.

This was a problem in EXTRAVERSION handling that should be
fixed in loop-aes-source 1.7e-12 and loop-aes-ciphers-source
1.1e-10.
