The d.o ML addresses can be found everywhere on the net (html pages, archives, such as http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2003/debian-mentors-200308/msg00352.html) and therefore even people who do not have anything to deal with debian can spread the virus if they have the page in their browser cache.
