When you use dpkg-gencontrol while building a multi-package source you
must tell dpkg-gencontrol which package you are building using the -p
option.
My libgmp3 package uses a line like:
dpkg-gencontrol -plibgmp3-dev -isp
for the dev package and
dpkg-gencontrol -plibgmp3 -isp
for the library package.
