A lot of people are asking me this, so I'll post a group reply. It's
fine if you are still in queue, as long as you have a sponsor and can
get them to upload a version with your name on it soon. 

If not, I give it to the next person who can make that committement. If
nobody else comes forward, you can still probably take it when you do 
become a developer/get a sponsor.

In other words, I'd like to get rid of these packages now, not later.

Do you have a sponsor? You're the first person to ask for floatbg.
