I hope you do not mind me chiming in :) I fixed that error log a little, it is shorter than before now (changes in salsa). The main bottleneck is that it needs pdfbox-graphics2d jar/package[1] and we do not have this in the archive yet. Removing code for this seems non-trivial and would also affect user experience (to my understanding) Hence, if you could package this and upload to new, that'd help it move forward.
