A medical *calculator* is a useful tool, especially if it makes adjusting/calculating dosage instructions intuitive and foolproof (this female child of such and such weight and/or age is to receive so many drops of medication X with a concentration of this grams per that milliliters of solution -- it gets easy to get wrong quickly).
