That is what I did, yes. Or, rather, a jpeg *produced* by the
vendor app.

I guess your point is to try to find out whether the vendor
app stores raw data and only applies its superior
post-processing on display/export ?

That approach would, if feasible, indeed answer the question
suspected above (namely where or when processing is applied)
but I don't see how that might help in deriving the actual
post-processing being done ?
