Well, if I understand things correctly the test is part of the package
build process and thus in the case of a failed test no package is build,

agree, but the fact remains - it doesn't work on ARM/Powerpc, but
perfectly works on Intell..
I've installed armel and powerpc qemu images ( thanks to aurel32
https://people.debian.org/~aurel32/qemu/ )
and did more tests for the other tools of the subread suite and
unfortunately subread-buildindex - one of
the core tools also fails in some strange way.
So I assume that there is more work need to be done to get subread in
shape for these architectures.
