I have to admit that while I feel able to hold a general workshop for sure I really intend to stick to the medicine audience for several reasons. The work inside Debian Med has shown that we have some specific topics to deal with and also the audience migt be different when targeting explicitely on packaging of medical applications. So yes, I would explicitely like to call the workshop: Debian packaging of medical and bioinformatics applications and I would like to stay explicitely inside the medical track. > For example, last year, a workshop on debian packaging was done during > 3H : http://2011.rmll.info/Tutorial-create-a-DEBIAN-package?lang=en Because you are giving examples: My very first Debian talk was at LSM 2001 and if you browse onto the very bottom of my talks page http://people.debian.org/~tille/talks/ you see it is more or less this topic. While this talk somehow reaches into the history of Debian Med (even this could serve as the beginning of the project without featuring the name) I have learned a lot about these issues meanwhile and I'm perfectly convinced that I would like to target the workshop at people who have some medical background. And no, if other people without such background want to join I will not kick them out of the room.
