Don't. There's absolutely zero sense in doing so. a) There already *are* packages for Lenny (I would think) from OpenMRS directly. It doesn't matter that those are not "proper" Debian packages. 2) The package will never ever get into Lenny. In fact, it will never ever get into Squeeze either. So, if you intend to eventually produce a "proper" Debian package and want to see that "entering into" Debian "proper" you can gladly base your work on unstable.
