1. libfame I think to package libfame only for amide is waste of time. If you have a lock at the todo list in the Amide main folder you can find * switch from libfame to ffmpeg for mpeg encoding We only have to wait... ;-) 2. ECAT It is already possible to import ECAT files. Amide uses xmedcon for this task. This makes libecat obsolete. I think Amide is in a good shape for the moment.
