One 'specific reason' to stay with an older release is that almost any
new release requires newer hardware (i.e. stops supporting some hardware
that was supported by the older release).
IMHO, it can be understood that mainstream Debian team or the
maintainers of individual packages tend to upgrade their hardware
frequently. But that's not always the case in the end users' community.
