Hello Hans,

I've found the original thread now at debian-user (https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2025/03/msg00055.html).

On 05/03/2025 19:28, Hans wrote:
By the way: I purged everything and tried "lb config --distribution bookworm"
which created a fully new "~/live-build-config/" tree.

Then build again and still got into the same issue. As I already mentioned:
The only thing I could explaoin this, would be, if /var/libv/dpkg/info/
*.postinst files are used from my native system.

But as some other op told, this is not the case. The whole chroot is created
with debootstrap and nothing is copied from somewhere else.

However, it was mentioned, that I made some mistakes with the native system
(what I do not believe), but as this can not be excluded and no developer of
debian-live did find a mistake in the software, I am now giving up and do not
bother any more.

So I have set this issue to solved.

Personally I believe, the debian-live developers already have set the
configurations and dependencies to trixie, majorly because this issue suddenly
appeared without any changes by me.

That's incorrect, the configuration and dependencies are managed by you in the config directory.

Even though you have set the topic as 'solved', I'm willing to take a look at your config directory to see where the issue is coming from.

Please send:
* Your 'lb config ....' command line
* The output of 'lb --version'
* The config directory
* The auto directory

The missing package 'grub-efi-amd64-unsigned' is requested by the module 'installer_debian-installer', and is within a conditional block to ensure that it is only requested when it exists. So you should not have had this issue...

Before then the built went fine, but from one day to the next the issue
appeared.

That is because the '--distribution' command line option in 'lb config' behaves differently now. Previously it attempted to match your current Debian version, and recently it changed to 'testing', because it is a maintenance nightmare to upload the package at exactly the right time.

Short for long: I will try some things still (as already mentioned) or wait
for trixie.

It will still be some time until trixie is released, so don't hesitate to contact this list.

Thank you very much for all the help, although it is not solved, I did close
it, so that people can care for other things.

However, you will not be the only one who will experience the new behaviour. If you can send more info, it can be resolved for all.

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
