I just pushed a MR on Salsa [1], which got merged already. (Thanks bluca :-) Said MR changes the default value for `--zsync` to false. Given that: a) zsync was orphaned 2021-09-19 #994648; b) zsync FTBFS with GCC-14 #1075710; c) zsync was only available for iso and iso-hybrid;d) zsync output is ignored by the live-setup package which generates the official live images;
I think that changing the default to the 'safer value' is the best way forward.
However, if someone would take over the maintenance of the zsync package, that's fine as well.
