There is already a local packages cache at: /var/cache/apt/archives/ If you previously run: $ sudo apt-get --download-only install libav-tools
Asked packages and dependencies will be downloaded but not installed. I use this behaviour to mount /var/cache/apt/archives externally and reuse same files in several setups with walking USB storage. __________ I'm using this express-made address because personal addresses aren't masked enough at this list's archives.
