Well, I have my preseed in the config/includes.installer directory. It is picked up and read perfectly when I boot the iso into Install or Graphic install just not when I boot into live.
Also, if you want the debian-installer available from your livecd, you need to install the debian-instller-launcher. Even though the launcher isn¹t reading the pressed, the installer works well.
