current sid makes use of fstab.d, if it doesn't, then that is a bug in
util-linux.
(apart from it just doesn't work here for sid nor wheezy images)
util-linux_2.20.1-5.6 is in sid. I read here that fstab.d mount
supported is not enabled till util-linux =>2.21 :
