When builidng a "tar" target, the process stops at the grub install.
Maybe this step could install the grub configuration files in the tar.gz file.
Those would be used later when manually extracting the tar file on a filesystem.

ok, let's close the bug with the appropriate version then.

grub is sort-of best-effort, as we by default use and support syslinux.
means, it depends on people that actually use it to test grub support
and report problems.
