note that the initial chroot can be re-used, but it needs to be made
sure, that 1. it's always updated before building an image, and 2. that
it matches the target distribution (e.g. building lenny from a lenny
chroot, or sid from a sid chroot; otherwise you'll have not the matching
auxiliary packages and the image will not boot (squashfs version
mismatch, for one)).
