Thanks for all the input. Here is an update.I have now added -- categories "main contrib non-free" to my lh_config build line and "apt- cache search" now lists all the sun-java and openjdk packages in a finished image, thankyou. The rest of my attempts were not so successful. Test 1----------Copied /usr/share/live-helper/examples/hook/sun-java5. sh to my chroot_local-hooks\ directory. Un-marked out the appropriate three lines etc. Re-built but received these errors: ############################################################################This package is an installer package, it does not actually contain theJ2SDK documentation. You will need to go download one of thearchives: jdk- 1_5_0-doc.zip jdk-1_5_0-doc-ja.zip(choose the non-update version if this is the first installation). Please visit http://java.sun. com/j2se/1.5.0/download.htmlnow and download. The file should be owned by root.root and be copiedto /tmp.[Press RETURN to try again, 'no' + RETURN to abort].....some more package installation etc......This package is an installer package, it does not actually contain theJ2SDK documentation. Could I install just (say for example) sun-java5-jre_1.5.0-17-0.1 ?Test 2------- Added openjdk-6-jre to my chroot_local-packageslists\01_package_add file. But it just did not install! I repeated with openjdk-6-jre- headless same result.Test 3-------Manually installed "apt-get install openjdk-6-jre" on the running image as produced in "Test 2" and installed OK. java -version returns good.Unfortunately, still cannot get applets to display, configuring konqueror as described in my first mail but obviously to the new /jvm directory etc. Just to remind, konqueror with these settings works fine with my knoppix re-master, so I'm relatively confident these settings are not the problem. I don't have a closed mind on this though.Regards,Steve
