I've actually been trying to find a reference to indicate a precedent in this matter but was unsuccessful. The reason why I changed them myself was because it appeared some places in the man page already do include the quotes and others don't and more importantly that in some places the formatting was incorrect/typoed causing small parts of the man page to not even render at all. When I went to standardize all instances, I noticed that \fI"FOO\fR" was much more readable than "\fIFOO\fR" (especially so when mixed in with a bunch of other formatting and text). I thought that the more readable format might help prevent further mistakes in the future. Cheers, -- Cody A.W.
