Hello. I have built a live system for USB memory stick, using instructions from the wiki[1], but it will not boot. The BIOS halts with the message "Boot error".
I built the image using lh_config -b usb-hdd -p xfce-desktop lh_build I transferred the image to an unmounted USB stick previously known to boot Puppy Linux with no problems using: dd if=binary.img of=/dev/sda After failing to boot with the message "Boot error", I inspected the partition using Gparted which gave this warning: Gparted warning: unable to read the contents of this filesystem! Because of this some operations may be unavailable. I reinstalled Puppy Linux on the partition created by Debian Live and got the same "Boot error" message. I reformatted the partition with FAT16 and reinstalled Puppy Linux which booted OK. I am using Lenny 2.6.26-1-486, live-helper 1.0.2-1, live-intramfs 1.154.3-1. I have not changed the mbr at any stage. Am I creating a corrupt image? Any suggestions would be welcome.
