Indeed I found this in https://dyn.manpages.debian.org/testing/devscripts/debian-watch.5.en.html? now too, so I closed the devscript bug. I'm happy this was just a typo and not some philosophical disagreement! Having more packages use PGP-signed git tags as upstreams will be great. /Simon
