Hi, I'm trying to work out why lintian had an issue with the new procps package.
There's two odd things about it: 1) The error comes up on the debian FTP server (v2.104.0) but not locally (v2.121.1). I think the relevant file checks/conffiles was last changed 15 years ago. 2) The error is saying the conffile is not in /etc but /etc/sysctl.conf is clearly in that directory. I'm stuck here because I have an error that doesn't make any sense to me. - Craig ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Thorsten Alteholz <deb...@alteholz.de> Date: Sat, 15 Feb 2025 at 23:36 Subject: Re: procps_4.0.5-1_amd64.changes REJECTED To: Craig Small <csm...@debian.org>, Debian FTP Masters < ftpmas...@ftp-master.debian.org> Hi Craig, On 15.02.25 00:25, Craig Small wrote: On Fri, 14 Feb 2025 at 21:38, Debian FTP Masters < ftpmas...@ftp-master.debian.org> wrote: > procps: lintian output: 'non-etc-file-marked-as-conffile remove-on-upgrade > /etc/sysctl.conf', automatically rejected package. > procps: If you have a good reason, you may override this lintian tag. > Could you explain to me how the file /etc/sysctl.conf is not a file in /etc? I need this line to fix #1085130 this question would be better asked the lintian people, wouldn't it? Also, I don't get this message: csmall@elmo:~/Debian/procps/procps$ lintian --version Lintian v2.121.1 The lintian version on fasolo is v2.104.0. Thorsten
