Actually, after further searching, it appears that, for public-domain, copying verbatim whatever paragraph in the file that confirms the code is public domain is what's expected. Additionally, it appears that some of the tools used for automatically generating or updating debian/copyright strip the license paragraph if it's not a common license. Now, if I could only remember which tool I used to update this, I could file an appropriate bug... Anyhow, I went back to the previous debian/copyright, found the relevant bit and put it back. It passes Lintian now. Let's close this. Sorry for the confusion. Martin-Éric
